The “10,000 Trees” program involved an 8-mile long river corridor revegetation and wetland restoration project along the Mary Carter Greenway.  Mobilizing 3,000 community volunteers through a partnership with Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado, the program included revegetation to the banks of the South Platte River after it was channelized for flood control purposes by the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers.

“Country in the City”, a partnership with Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado, private foundations, partnering cities, Great Outdoors Colorado, involving wetland restoration and tree planting along the Big Dry Creek corridor in Progress Park.  Youth volunteers participated and the project was featured in “On The Ground”, a national environmental magazine.
