Our trail design planning elements reflect a 10-foot wide hard surface trail when conditions exist.  By implementing these project guidelines, our trails are truly multi-use promoting a wide range of types of activities as well as serving a wide range of ages and levels.  We want these trails to maximize outdoor opportunities including cycling, running, walking, blading and skating.  Whether you want to ride 25 miles continuously or run 2 miles for a short break, our trails will support your needs.  As funds and project areas allow, we have begun implementing crusher fine trails parallel to the hard surface to expand the use and meet community requests.

Some people swear by the treadmill. Others can’t wait for the warm weather and the opportunities for outdoor exercise that come with it.  But while you might think it comes down to personal preference, many believe outdoor exercise might have even more health benefits than a trip to the gym.

With the ongoing concern of adult and childhood obesity and illnesses associated with obesity, it is more important then ever to live a healthy and active lifestyle.  The trails and greenways we’ve created provide a free and easily accessible opportunity to get outside and be fit.  Whether you’re a walker, cyclist, skater; or a beginner or competitive athlete; there are dozens of physical activities you can participate in throughout the trail system.  What better way to exercise then outside on one of the stellar trails right in your backyard!

We have created an interactive map program where you can identify trail routes based on your activity level, distance you would like to travel, and type of surface preferred for your exercise.
